ILLUSIONS OF PERFECTION

In Uncategorized on April 27, 2013 at 6:12 pm

She wakes in the morning and puts on her face. She does her hair perfectly, not a hair out of place. Always dressing to impress, she puts on her cute little shoes. She puts on her apron to cook breakfast. She gets the children off to school. She does every fundraiser for school. Her family never misses church. She presents the perfect life. With her handsome husband, beautiful kids, she is the perfect wife. To the world she seems so happy. Oh she hides her pain so well. Sitting alone at her table, she cries in the afternoon. I could have been more had a real life she sobs. She put her dreams aside when she became a wife. No one really knows her, she never lets them in. To afraid the will see the true hell she is in. She takes pills to be happy and to prevent suicide. She Drinks several glasses of wine at night to quit her ragging mind. Her husband doesn’t see her.  Barley noticing she is there. Her children are to wrap it in their own life. They all seem not just not care. She dreams of the things she never got to be. Struggling with her Identity, Who am I supposed to be? The pain is overwhelming, so she takes another pill. The Doctor says these will help her, these little yellow pills. The pills only seem to make her feel worse, like she is dead inside. Some days she feels like screaming. Look at me! Look at me! Staying silent she smiles so that no one will see. In a drug induced haze she bakes another cake. She has to redo her hair and makeup to have the perfect face.  Perfect is the illusion everything in its place. Serving her family dinner, doing the dishes in heals. Not one person asks her about her day. They don’t know or care how she feels Sad and lonely house wife. Her life is not real. The perfection is a lie. A mask she hides behind her life is an illusion, falsehood a trick of the mind. Form a distance you admire her and wish that it was you. You wouldn’t really envy her if you knew the truth. Be careful what you wish for perception is not the truth. Her life is not what you think. Let your hair be messy leave the dishes in the sink. Have the wine with friends buy the dam cake. A good wife and mother, yes this is good to be and do. Do not however forget to remember you. Don’t judge her too harshly for the outcome of her life. She didn’t plan or choose this sad and lonely life when you see her on the street smile and pretend you don’t know. The only control she has left is the pain she doesn’t show. On day the illusions will crumble. An overdose will end her life. Have pity and say a prayer for this sad and lonely house wife.
