MURDER BETWEEN FRIENDS

In Uncategorized on May 4, 2013 at 9:36 pm

Its 12:00 AM Friday morning, my best friend calls. He husband has beaten her once again. This wasn’t the first time and wouldn’t be the last. She had tried to leave him before. She had left more than a few times. There was just no getting away from him. Anytime she left it would only get worse. She could never leave; he said he would kill her first. She was my best friend since we were little kids. We share all are secrets we always did. I had introduced them. I didn’t see his bad side. I felt responsible; she would be here if not for me. She used to be so feisty, so bold. The beating had just wore her down and broken her. Now my friend hardly leaves the house. Something has to happen. The violence has to end. I had to do something before he killed my childhood friend.  I calmed her down and told I was coming over, just wait. This would be his last time. That bastard had sealed his own fate. He was passed out on the sofa drunk and high when I got to the house. I already had a plan to get her out. I didn’t have to tell her she already knew. It was understood with a look. My best friend already knew. You see it would be easy. We wouldn’t get caught. No one would question if he disappeared. He was a drug addict a criminal and a thug. He had taken off several times before. No one would question if he did it once more. I knew just were to dump him. A place he would never be found. So what if he was. The cops would say a bad drug deal or crime. Who would really care if a criminal went down?  She gave me his stash of heroin and I prepped his arm.  If we were lucky he would O.D. when we gave him the shot. He never even moved. He never made a sound. We waited for an hour and then dragged him to the garage. With every ounce of strength we lifted him into the trunk. We drove the back roads till we got to the Jersey Pine Barrens.  The Pine Barrens have always been rumored to be a dumping ground for the mob. It was the perfect place to get rid of him at last. We drove deep into the wood and parked the car. There would be no turning back now that we had gone this far. I pulled out a large knife from my purse and we walked to the back of the car. There was no dramatics, no tear or debate. To be honest we didn’t hesitate. We pulled him from the trunk and drop him on the ground. He started to move and made a moaning sound.  Just like that she took the knife and slit him ear to ear. We dragged him to the marsh. He was heavy it was no easy. We wiped of the knife and rolled him in and watched him sick down. Just as I had hoped it all went according to plan. They never found him. Not a soul suspected he had been killed. If they did they didn’t care if he was dead. Life has moved on, two years gone by. Life is happy we are still friends. We both have a normal life. We are both married now and talk all the time. We have never spoken of him since the night we took his life. I feel no remorse or guilt he had it coming to him. I would do it all over again.  I do however laugh silently when asked. What would you do for a friend?  We both know what we did and have not lost any sleep. We will keep are secret till the end. Anyway, what’s a little murder between friends?
